Having a TV in your living room is nice, but whenever it's off it is just a big black box.
A few weeks ago I discovered Roku Photo Streams. This creates a screensaver out of any photo/photos you choose! You can decide whether to make it one photo or a slideshow of pictures. Whatever you decide will add so much more life to your room than the empty black box on the wall.

Roku Photo Streams works with any type of Roku device. We have a Roku TV, Roku projector, and a TV with a Roku. It works on them all because our Roku account is connected to each one.
To start your photo stream, head to this Roku Photo Stream link.
Create a photo stream on your Roku account that you would like displayed on your TV. Follow the instructions to add it to your Roku.

Make sure your photos are cropped to TV dimensions to look best. I cropped all mine to a 21:9 ratio, to fit my entire TV screen.
You can also invite others to view or add pictures to your Photo Stream.
I created a slideshow of 20 photos of Sophie. Whenever it pops up, she loves watching herself on the TV!
It makes for a great alternative to a big black spot on the wall.
Have you made a Roku Photo Stream yet? Let me know what pictures you add!
