I would make these with my grandma when I was growing up, and now that she has passed away I make them every year! They taste like Christmas!
Makes 30 cookies 🍪
INGREDIENTS:
1 c sugar
1/2 c butter - 1 stick softened
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 c applesauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
2 c flour
1 bag of semisweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375
Spread parchment paper over 2 cookie sheets
Mix sugar, butter, and eggs in a bowl
Mix baking soda and applesauce in another bowl
Add baking soda/applesauce mix to sugar, butter, egg bowl and mix
In big bowl, mix salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and flour
Create a center hole in the dry ingredients bowl and add wet ingredients
Mix it all together
Add chocolate chips
Scoop onto prepared cookie sheets
Put both pans in oven and bake for 12 minutes or until light brown and bounce back when lightly touched
